  1. Dear Angela,

I am an artist at the Lorton Workhouse in Lorton, Virginia. In June, I was featured artist in Building 9. I did a series of paintings called "BP - Changing the Landscape". I mainly paint landscapes in oil from photographs which I take. When I saw the photographs on the internet of the Gulf Coast oil spill, I felt compelled to do a series of paintings from the images I saw to draw attention to this catastrophe and to this historic event. I used acrylic iridescent paint and metallic spray paint in the underpainting and oil paint over the top...fat over lean much like the oil spill itself.

A friend saw your exhibit and suggested I send you an image. I used metallic spray paint and acrylic iridescent paint on the paper towel.

    Thank you for the opportunity.

    Sincerely,

    H.K. Anne
