Learning how to deal with the feelings associated with being rejected is crucial for post-college survival. Unfortunately it's not something generally taught in the classroom by the people with their comfy full-time faculty positions.

I also enjoyed collaborating on the Jenga tower of awesomeness with members of the Foster Collective!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7818153850518360515.post-3244103717585773412010-09-01T16:52:16.517-07:002010-09-01T16:52:16.517-07:00This is the best one!!!This is the best one!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7818153850518360515.post-32102610996787998462010-08-14T16:44:49.417-07:002010-08-14T16:44:49.417-07:00Show looks great, Foster Collective. I did a series of paintings called "BP - Changing the Landscape". I mainly paint landscapes in oil from photographs which I take. When I saw the photographs on the internet of the Gulf Coast oil spill, I felt compelled to do a series of paintings from the images I saw to draw attention to this catastrophe and to this historic event. I used acrylic iridescent paint and metallic spray paint in the underpainting and oil paint over the top...fat over lean much like the oil spill itself.

A friend saw your exhibit and suggested I send you an image. Don't only blame BP. We are such gluttons for oil and oil based products that the corporate machine just pumps it out to feed our insatiable hunger. Think about it when you dry clothes in your dryer, leave lights on in your home, double bag your groceries, drive your car, take a long shower, etc. etc. Maybe we'll get the message when we turn on our taps and we can smell the oil.
